Heart to Heart Coloring

It is HERE!! Presenting "HEART TO HEART COLORING"!!!! Let me first say this is not your average coloring book! This was designed and crafted for the purpose of bringing truth into your home in a fun, simple, intentional and creative way! Heart to Heart Coloring provides you with coloring pages, extension activities, and adult pages for all 32 wonderful talks from the April 2020 General Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We have put so much of our own hearts into this project knowing that having these "heart to heart" conversations and taking the time to intentionally be with your kids/grandchildren in a way that is fun and engaging will help create an atmosphere and everyday space to teach what really matters most!

Let's talk for a minute about the why behind this project. Recently, we have changed our business mission statement for Lee Family Music to be centered around the home. That is where good can be planted and nourished. That is where it starts if we want to make this world a better place. Our new mission is for not us, but all of us, YOU INCLUDED, to “Teach. Uplift. Inspire” in your own homes and start there by making the biggest difference you can make. TEACH truth to your children and how to know what is true. UPLIFT others in your home and help them find their passions and dreams. INSPIRE those in your home to be kind, to work hard, to be forgiving, to strive to be better and to have grit in life, by your example.

I think now more than ever, it is so hard to find truth and to know what is true. As a mom, I want to make sure I am taking that time for myself to study and strengthen my own testimony. I also feel a lot of responsibility to surround my kids with truth and helping them recognize that feeling of when they hear something that is true and good.

We all know a child's top priority in life is to have fun. If you can make cleaning up fun then they are all in. If you can make eating dinner fun, they will have a clean plate before anyone else at the table. We wanted to create something that made learning about true doctrine, fun and engaging. Each coloring page was drawn by my amazingly talented sister-in-law, Addie and we wanted to make sure that every page was an image of something a child can relate to and recognize as an "everyday thing". This brings the learning to a whole new level! Starting with these objects or scenarios that are already familiar to your child provides that connection right off the bat and lays the perfect foundation to relate it to a true gospel principle.

There is an adult page as well as a coloring page to go along with each talk from General Conference, April 2020. On the adult page there is a "Heart to Heart" section that provides a conversation starter for you and your family about the coloring page before you listen to the talk. This is where magic happens! This has helped create a culture and set a tone in our home to have conversations like this, part of our normal everyday life.

After having your "heart to heart" conversation, it is time to hand out the markers and listen

to the talk while your kids get their creative juices flowing. On your adult page there is also a section for you to take notes as well as write down any invitations or promises made during the address. Don't worry we also included a mini version of the coloring page so you can get some coloring in as well. ;)

The talk is finished and the pages are colored! The learning does not stop there! On your adult page you will also see an extension activity that go

es along with what you just learned about. These are very simple activities that can be thrown together in the moment. If you are a planner, like me. we also included a supply list that lists every talk and what supplies you need for the extension activities. I have loved that doing these extension activities has often led my kids to carry out their own activities by themselves after we are through. This picture, my three year old decided he wanted to make puppets out of the king and queen and then him and his sisters did puppet shows together for

a good half hour by themselves!

I really could go on and on about how much we have LOVED doing this in our home. We've included this in our morning routine and it just sets such a great tone for the rest of the day. We've used it for last minute FHE as well as Sunday dinner. SO many possibilities. I love having intention when I sit down and just BE with my kids and I love that all of us are benefiting from this time together!

Putting this project together has been like smooshing everything I love and value into one pack of goodness! We could not be more excited to share this with you and your family!! Happy Coloring! :) Click on the image below to check it out for yourselves!
